Phra Pidta literally means “the covering of the eyes” or “Closed-Eyes Buddha”.
It symbolizes the restraint of the six senses — sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and thought — to avoid worldly disturbances and negative influences.
In Buddhist philosophy, closing the senses represents inner discipline and protection. The wearer is not affected by rumors, conflicts, malice, or harmful intentions, thus remaining calm, focused, and protected from misfortune.
Phra Pidta amulets are widely believed to bring:
• Protection from evil and danger
• Reduction of obstacles and ill intentions
• Improvement in luck and wealth
• Better judgment in business and investments
It is especially favored by those in high-risk occupations or challenging environments, as well as individuals seeking stable fortune and personal protection.
